On this last adventure there with my husband we even visited the winery! Imagine, a winery on an island in the middle of the South Pacific! Rangiroa is a flat ring of coral encircling a seemingly endless azure blue lagoon that is 110 miles around. There are two pass dives here that boast giant dolphin, sharks, and a myriad of tropical fish. There is good snorkeling at the Kia Ora Resort. This property has a beautiful lagoon, kicked back atmosphere, and four star accomodation. The island itself has a couple of small villages, lots of pensions to stay in, a working Pearl farm with free tours, a winery with a tasting room, tours of the lagoon to the Pink Sands, and friendly people.
